5 Star Europe Hotel & Luxury Spa Resort
Here we feature three such commercial projects. The first was for the 5 Star Europe Hotel & Luxury Spa Resort located on the shores of Killarney’s largest lake, the breathtaking Lough Lein.
Signature Stairs provided much of the architectural metalwork for the project which included a three story feature Turret staircase with curved glass balustrade to the ESPA spa, a cantilevered feature stairs to the conference area, free standing glass balustrade internally, bead blast ’frosted’ finish stainless steel and wire rope exterior railings as well as frameless glass exterior railings.
Helical Staircase Design
The second commercial project is a helical staircase design consisting of rolled mild steel stringers with open rise steps. The outside channel holds the clear toughened curved glass balustrade. The stairs is finished with a floating brushed finished stainless steel flat handrail to the glass balustrade with a stainless steel balustrade to the inside curve . The steel balustrade is fabricated with horizontal circular infill bars and fitted with a flat handrail. The steps were clad in carpet with the appropriate tactile warning non-slip nosings.
Old City Hall in Cork City
The commercial project shown below was part of the extension to the Old City Hall in Cork City. Signature Stairs provided the stairs to the “Stair Hall” which is one of the stand-out features of the building connecting the original city hall to the new adjoining offices.
Spanning four flights, the stairs is flanked by free-standing glass balustrade with a floating stainless steel handrail and marble steps. Also provided were free standing glass railings to open walkways, handrails, escape stairs balustrade, exterior galvanized fencing and gates as well as exterior free standing glass railings.
